TEF LogoArthur W. Brothers Scholarship - Communication & Technology

 

Scholarships are made possible by and in cooperation with the A. W. Brothers Family and the Tooele Education Foundation.

The A.W. Brothers family, working hand in hand with the Tooele Education Foundation has established the Arthur W. Brothers Communication and Technology Scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the Tooele County School District.

 

CRITERIA:

High School senior who plans to pursue a career in communications or communication technology
Complete and submit application packet.
GPA of 2.5 or higher (certified transcript required).
Essay, not to exceed 800 words.
List of community service projects with which you have been involved.
List of leadership opportunities that have helped you grow.
Letter of recommendation.

 

DEADLINE: February 19, 2021

AWARDS: One (1) $1,000 scholarship, and two (2) $500 scholarships

TEF Logo Detroit Diesel Skilled Trades & STEM Scholarship

 

Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing West is a high tech company dedicated to offering scholarship opportunities to students who wish to pursue pathways of post secondary education related to technical trade skills and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

 

FACTORS THAT WILL WEIGH HEAVILY IN THE SELECTION PROCESS INCLUDE:

GPA and ACT scores as shown on the students certified transcript.
Quality of letter of recommendation.
List of community service projects with which you have been involved.
List of leadership experiences in which you participated.
List of classes and experiences that demonstrate your desire to pursue a Skilled Trades or STEM related career pathway.
Quality of essay

TEF LogoKiwanis "Go Local" Scholarship

 

These two scholarships are in memory of Jerry Steelman and Vickie Griffith and are made possible by and in cooperation with Kiwanis and the Tooele Education Foundation. It is hoped that the "Go Local" Scholarship will serve as an incentive to students desiring to continue their education here in Tooele County.

 

CRITERIA:
1. Complete and submit application form.
2. Senior students from any Tooele County School District High Schools
3. Minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher (certified transcript required)
4. Essay - not to exceed 800 words using the prompt provided
5. Letter of recommendation
6. Applicants must be planning to attend the Tooele Technical College or USU in Tooele.

"Go Local" scholarships will be awarded to students who desire to continue their education in Tooele County. With the presence of the Tooele Technology College and the Tooele campus of Utah State University students can stay at home and become will qualified for the workforce or earn a college degree.

TEF LogoPurple Innovation Scholarship

 

Purple, working hand in hand with the Tooele Education Foundation, has established the Purple Innovation Scholarship. The scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in the Tooele County School District.

 

CRITERIA:
Complete and submit application packet.
GPA of 3.0 or higher (certified transcript required).
Essay - not to exceed 800 words.
List of experiences you have participated in at school and in the community, particularly as they relate to your chosen career path.

TEF LogoPurple Pathway Scholarship

 

Scholarships will be awarded to qualified students who demonstrate a desire to continue their education and will be awarded to students seeking special training and skills in the areas of manufacturing, design, marketing, and project management leading to employment at Purple and in cooperation with the Tooele Technical College. The scholarship must be used at Tooele Technical College.

 

Criteria:
1. Complete and submit all information on the application form.
2. Students graduating from Tooele County School District may apply.
3. Scholarship is to be used only at Tooele Technical College.
4. GPA of 2.5 or higher (certified transcript required)
5. Essay - not to exceed 800 words using the prompt provided.
6. List of experiences you have participated in at school and in the community, particularly as they relate to your chosen career path.

TEF LogoBarrick Go For the Gold Scholarship

 

This $1,000 scholarship is made possible by and in cooperation with the BARRICK MERCUR GOLD MINE FOUNDATION, INC.

In 1989, the Barrick Gold Mining Company established the Barrick Foundation for the purpose of providing an endowment to fund scholarships for graduating high school students in the Tooele County School District. The Barrick Foundation works closely with the Tooele Education Foundation in administering this scholarship program.

Scholarships are awarded to qualified students who demonstrate a need and desire to continue their education either with specific workforce training or to pursue a higher education degree. Barrick’s emphasis is to recognize and award students who may not have received significant scholarships from other sources.

CRITERIA:
1. Complete and submit application form
2. Seniors graduating from either Blue Peak, Grantsville, Stansbury or Tooele High Schools may apply.
3. List of service, leadership, and extra-curricular activities and experiences you have participated in at school and in the community, particularly as they relate to your chosen academic/career goals.
4. Write and submit and essay following the prompt provided. Not to exceed 800 words.
5. Letter of recommendation
6. Scholarship must be used within the academic year following high school graduation. Scholarship recipients may submit a request for a deferral.

TEF Logo American Warriors Student in Action

 

The scholarship is made possible by the American Warriors in Action organization. The Students in Action Scholarships are being awarded to a senior student graduating from THS, SHS, DHS, and GHS at the end of the 2019-2020 school year. It is hoped that the Students in Action Scholarship will serve as an incentive to students desiring to continue their education.

CRITERIA:
Complete and submit the application form.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher during high school (certified transcript required).
Essay- not to exceed 800 words
5. List of community service projects in which you have been involved.
6. List of leadership opportunities that have helped you grow.

TEF LogoDalton Donate 4 Life: Nursing/Medical Scholarship

 

Individuals interested in promoting organ donation and the Tooele Education Foundation have collaborated in the creation and implementation of the Dalton Donate 4 Life Nursing/Medical Scholarship. Special consideration will be given to applicants who will be pursuing a career in the nursing/medical profession and who have shown an interest in this field as demonstrated by the classes they have taken in high school.

CRITERIA:
1. Complete and submit the application
2. Must be a senior, or a junior graduating early, from a Tooele County School District high school. Students graduating from adult education are also eligible to apply.
3. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout high school (certified transcript required)
4. Essay, not to exceed 800 words. The essay should include information about yourself, your understanding and knowledge about organ donation, and why you are planning a career in a nursing/medical field.
5. Letter of recommendation
6. Leadership and community service
7. List of medical related classes and/or experience
8. Dependent children of members of the Tooele Education Foundation Board of Directors and judging team members are not eligible to apply for the scholarship

TEF LogoThe Haunted Acres of Erda FFA Scholarship

 

The Tooele Education Foundation has collaborated with Alison Witkowski and Sydney England in the creation and establishment of The Haunted Acres of Erda FFA Scholarship Program.

This scholarship will be awarded at the end of the 2020 – 2021 school year and is available to any qualifying senior student (or junior graduating early) in any of the TCSD’s six high schools.

 

CRITERIA:
1. Complete all application form information.
2. Seniors, or juniors graduating early, from any Tooele County School District high school
3. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher during your high school career (certified transcript including your ACT score)
4. Demonstrate participation and membership in the FFA.
5. Essay not to exceed 800 words using the prompt provided.
6. Participation in extra-curricular activities: Examples include, but are not limited to: service programs, leadership activities, clubs, athletic teams, and civic engagement. Be sure to highlight any leadership roles in your extra-curricular activities.
7. Letter of recommendation.

TEF Jordan M. Byrd Memorial Scholarship
 
Scholarships will be awarded to qualified students who demonstrate a desire to pursue an education in the medical field at the college or university of their choice.
 
CRITERIA:
1. Complete and submit the application form
2. Any graduate from any TCSD high school or the Adult Education program may apply.
3. Applicants must intend to pursue a career in the medical field.
4. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher (certified transcript required)
5. Letter of recommendation.
6. Complete essay - not to exceed 800 words using the prompt provided.
7. List and describe your community service involvement.
8. List and describe leadership experiences you have had throughout high school.

Scholarships will be awarded to qualified students who demonstrate a desire to pursue an education in the medical field at the college or university of their choice.

8. Provide a list of medical education classes you have taken and any volunteer or work experience you have had related to this field.

Jiffy Lube

Local Jiffy Lube owners are offering two $6,500 scholarship awards and four $1,500 scholarship awards to 6 local high school students – students simply have to write about “What Drives You?” – no grade point or test score requirements! 

 

Program Overview:

  • Six finalists will be selected from the 500 word “What Drives You?” essays submitted.   (there are two categories:  Already licensed teen drivers & driver’s ed students) . Each finalist will be guaranteed a minimum $1,500 award if they create and submit a 1-2 minute video that expands on their essay in their own candid words, visuals, etc.  The overall  $6,500 scholarship winner, in each category,  will be chosen from these videos.  Last year’s scholarship winners and the videos they submitted are  posted on our site!

Lifeline for Youth Scholarship

    Applicant Eligibility Requirements:
    • This scholarship is open to any high school senior or college student who is a legal resident of the United States. 
    • Scholarship will only be paid to winner who is living in the United States 
    • If you are a college student, you must be enrolled beginning no later than the upcoming Fall semester 
    • This is NOT a financial need based scholarship 
    • Relatives or employees of LifeLine for Youth may not enter 
    • Home-schooled students may apply as long as their curriculum and course of study is equivalent to a Utah high school senior 
    • Applicants are required to submit a video on YouTube (click the “Make a Video” button or scroll down for details) 
    • Must include a link to LifeLine’s website in your video description: https://lifelineutah.com/ and the hashtag: #LifeLineUtahScholarship.
    • Applicants MUST “like” LifeLine for Youth’s Facebook page to be considered. Failure to “like” our Facebook page will result in automatic disqualification.

• Attend an accredited college or university in Utah, including trade/technical schools or any LDS college or university
• Do not have to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or have an affiliation with BYU

At least one recipient will be selected from every commissary location, including Dugway Proving Ground.
