This Go Local Scholarship is made possible by and in cooperation with the: Ott Family, Tooele Education Foundation & Tooele Technology College

Go Local scholarships are being awarded to senior students graduating from Dugway High School at the end of the 2019 - 2020 school year. It is hoped that Go Local scholarships will serve as an incentive to students desiring to continue their education locally here in Tooele County.

With the presence of Tooele Technology College, students can stay at home and become well qualified for the workforce without leaving the community. This presents substantial savings to many students in their pursuit of higher education.

The “Go Local” scholarship will be in the amount of $500 and must be used by the award-winning student to attend the Tooele Technical College. One scholarship is being awarded by the Ott Family to a student from Dugway High School.
DEADLINE: March 20, 2020

Scholarship Guidelines

In 1989, the Barrick Gold Mining Company established the Barrick Foundation for the purpose of providing an endowment to fund scholarships for graduating high school students in the Tooele County School District. The Barrick Foundation works closely with the Tooele Education Foundation in administering this scholarship program.

Scholarships are awarded to qualified students who demonstrate a need and desire to continue their education either with specific workforce training or to pursue a higher education degree. Barrick’s emphasis is to recognize and award students who may not have received significant scholarships from other sources.

Students desiring consideration for a Barrick scholarship should submit their application complying with the following guidelines and instructions. All information requested must be included and submitted with the form. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

1. Complete and submit application form.
2. Seniors graduating from all TCSD high schools may apply.
3. List of service, leadership, and extra-curricular activities and experiences you have participated in at school and in the community, particularly as they relate to your chosen academic/career goals.
4. Write and submit and essay following the prompt provided. Not to exceed 800 words.
